Love at first sight is probably the phrase that best describes the feeling that arose when we sisters first rolled down the gravel road toward Ekudden in the spring of 2017.

The secluded location right by the water’s edge, the magnificent oak trees, and the red houses with classic white trim felt absolutely right. It wasn’t hard to see the potential of what this place could become, and the inspiration still flows today.

Over the years, we have gradually renovated the houses and developed the outdoor environment with a gentle touch. At Ekudden, there is no luxury or glamour — here, nature is in focus, and you are meant to feel at home in our cozy, personal rooms with the archipelago just outside your window.

We sisters have together run hotel businesses for over 10 years, starting and operating Hotel Skeppsbron and Divine Living Apartments in Gamla Stan, Stockholm. After a few years, our longing for nature and the sea drew us outward. We saw a concept that was missing in the Stockholm area: the opportunity for larger private groups to gather and stay overnight in a beautiful and easily accessible archipelago environment, where bringing your own food and drinks is allowed and full service is available upon request.

We are happy today to have the privilege of working in our dream environment and offering our guests exactly what we ourselves longed for — just a stone’s throw from the pulse of Stockholm city.
